TITANIA HENDERSON

Born in Holland, Titania currently lives and works in Melbourne, Australia. In 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) at RMIT, Melbourne and following this studied Honours in ceramics in 2004 at RMIT, Melbourne.


In her recent career, Titania has held a solo exhibition at Christine Abrahams Gallery and was recently included in both the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize and the Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award.


She has also participated in numerous significant group exhibitions including: Look: New Perspectives on the Contemporary Collection, National Gallery of Victoria: Australia, Federation Square Melbourne (2008); Taiwan Ceramics Biennale, (Finalist) Taipei County Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan (2008); Innovative Ceramics: Melbourne - Hong Kong, Nellie Castan Gallery, Melbourne (2006); 54th Concorso Internazionale Della Ceramica d'Art, Museum of International Ceramics, Faenza, Italy (2005); 24th Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award, Gold Coast City Art Gallery (2005); Tattersall's Contemporary Art Prize, Newport Substation Heritage Building, Williamstown, Victoria (2005); Siemens Fine Art Scholarship Exhibition, RMIT Storey Hall Gallery, Melbourne (2004); Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize Exhibition, Redleaf Council Chambers, Sydney (2004); Harvest - Selection from Graduate Students. Among her various awards and achievements, Titania has received a Highly Commended, Tattersall's Contemporary Art Prize, Melbourne (2005), was a finalist a the 54th Concorso Internazionale Della Ceramica d'Art, Museum of International Ceramics, Faenza, Italy (2005), the winner of the Smorgon Steel Contemporary Art Prize Open Award Melbourne, Victoria (2004) and also a finalist in the Siemens RMIT Fine Arts Scholarship, Siemens, Melbourne (2004).


Her work is widely admired and features in various public collections that include: National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne; Museo Internazionale Della Ceramiche In Faenza, Italy and Taipei County Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan.
