Marie Hagerty | New Paintings

Marie Hagerty's first solo exhibition at Karen Woodbury Gallery will consist of a suite of major paintings ranging in scale with a shift in palette. These new paintings are aesthetically stunning whilst technically complex.

Hagerty presents a range of abstract harmonious imagery, bold planes and overlapping shapes and layers that oscillate between the figurative and the abstract. Her smooth surfaces and sophisticated compositions engage with the process of painting and its transportive powers. Hagerty's conglomerate shapes are manipulated through shading and line work to convey a three-dimensional quality.
